Ethiopique is dedicated to bridging the information gap for more than 100,000 Amharic-speaking residents in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area by providing essential local news in their native language. Despite its vital role, Ethiopique still faces financial challenges that limit its ability to expand and sustain consistent coverage.
With community support, Ethiopique aims to make its business development and marketing staff, as well as its reporter, full-time employees. This will strengthen our newsroom’s stability, deepen community engagement, and allow us to deliver more timely and impactful local reporting.
